Before you vacation in Florida you should know about one of Florida’s hidden treasures, Lake Powell. Lake Powell is located in Inlet Beach, Florida. If you are vacationing in Florida then you should definitely put Lake Powell on the top of your list of things to do. There are many interesting things to do there and it is definitely worth a visit.
It is not a lake in the sense of Lake Hartwell or Lake Keowee, but rather a man made reservoir that spans six miles and sits on a quarter of the town. The water in the lake is crystal clear and the lake bottom is covered with a thick, translucent layer of silt. This allows the lake to hold the distinction as the only known fresh water lake in the world where you can see the bottom. The lake is a real gem. The water is perfect for swimming, boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and diving.
Go for a walk at Lake Powell’s Camp Helen State Park, and then cool off with a swim in the lakefront pool. Or spend the day with the family at Pier Park, and then enjoy a casual dinner at a great 30A restaurant in the evening.
