Why Inlet Beach is the best kept secret in 30A

While it's only 60 miles from Destin, Inlet Beach remains a popular tourist destination that many vacationers miss. The town has a unique history: it was a retirement community for Gilded Age industrialists, who built grand mansions that today give the beach its name.

Inlet Beach is also a great spot for bird watchers, who flock to the area to spot the rare Roseate Spoonbill, an ancient seabird that is now endangered.  The beach is lined with beautiful sand dunes, which make for great exploring if you're up for a hike, and there are also plenty of restaurants and shops to keep you busy.

Inlet Beach (so named because one of the area’s natural water inlets is located here) has remained relatively quiet even though it's located only a mile away from the heart of 30A. That's because Inlet Beach doesn't have the commercial development of nearby Rosemary Beach or Seacrest Beach. That doesn't mean that Inlet Beach is an undesirable place to visit, though, offering a wide range of outdoor activities, including kayak, surf, hiking and biking trails, sand dunes and golf.

Inlet Beach is a beach lovers paradise with an Old Florida vibe, certainly a vacation you will never forget!
